Open Question: Employment in Police Work?

I am interested in police work. I have always been. I work full time, own a home and i'm really busy. I found a police department near my house that basically has 2 tests you take, one for knowlodge and a physical agility test. I'm skinny but not fit, so i'd need to work out. I suppose i'm just asking for opinions on police work and if you enjoy it. Also what type of person do you need to be. I'm afraid people wont take me seriously because I am 5'2",blonde and I can be shy sometimes. I know that aint the best trait but i'm working on it! I suppose I come off as a ditzy blonde chick that works in a shopping mall, but really I am the opposite. Has anybody done these programs before? I am in Granite Falls,WA. But i found a program in Everett. Any help is great. thank you Also, will a person with a mild case of bi-polar/mood swings on a low dose of medication be excluded generally?
